Attorney Sara Burton

Sara Burton has spent most of her life in Central Florida, moving to Orlando in 1989. After graduating from Cypress Creek High School, Sara attended the University of Florida, where she was briefly an architecture major before earning her undergradutate degree in Political Science. Sara attended law school at The University of Florida Levin College of Law (double Gator!), where she earned her Juris Doctorate in 2002. While at UF, Sara was part of the Journal of Law and Public Policy.

Sara spent the first 13 years of her career as a commercial litigator, handling matters on behalf of clients throughout the State of Florida. Sara joined a national construction company as in-house counsel in 2016, where she counseled employees in 9 offices throughout the country on construction and contract related matters, litigation support, developed training programs, created standardized forms and contracts, and negotiated over $1B in contracts on behalf of the company. In 2021, Sara stepped away from her legal career to partner with her husband Kyle in his prospering custom home construction company, focusing on design elements (putting her architecture studies to use!) and all aspects of operational support and client relations. At CMH, Sara focuses on commercial litigation and also utilizes her prior experience as in-house counsel to offer a wide variety of services and legal support to corporate clients.

Sara most enjoys spending time with her husband Kyle and her two children, Brooke and Brady. She is active within the community and within the school community at Montverde Academy, where both Brooke and Brady attend. Brooke and Brady are both student athletes (rowing and baseball) and when they are not at a baseball field or lakeside, the family enjoys spending time together outdoors – skiing in Colorado and hiking, kayaking, fishing and skiing in North Georgia.
